Any porous or semi-porous items that have come into contact with bodily fluids will need to be properly treated and, most of the time, will need to be disposed of at an approved biohazardous waste treatment facility. This document is supported by photographs to show proof of loss of the items. This is especially important if you need to show proof of loss of personal property to your insurance company.

Paper is highly porous. If it has been directly impacted with blood or other potentially infectious materials, it must be transported to a medical waste facility for destruction. Generally, they won’t be able to recommend specific companies for these services, but they will confirm if you need to call a biohazardous waste cleanup team to come out. As soon as the police have completed their investigation, they will release the property back to the owner. At that point, we can begin our cleanup services.
