As soon as we receive your call, we will put together a plan to meet with you or a representative at the location where the homicide occurred. Whenever possible, we want to be there prior to the police department leaving, as they may have information about the event that will help us provide the best possible service to you.

  • Inspection – Prior to any cleanup service, we assess the situation to determine the scope of the work and provide a realistic idea of what needs to be done and how long it will take us. With homicides, each situation is different. Some of the factors we may need to take into consideration include location, number of deceased, cause of death, weather, and time of day. We will also consider damage to flooring, walls, and personal property. If any of these items need to be removed, we will provide documentation to your insurance company to assist in the rebuild portion of the process.

  • Cleanup & Waste Disposal – We are licensed to clean, transport, and dispose of any biohazardous materials. We utilize only EPA-approved chemicals and follow all EPA guidelines for blood and other potentially infectious materials. Our first responder friends will have information on who to contact regarding the homicide itself, as well as grief counseling and funeral services if needed. Generally, they won’t be able to recommend specific companies for these services, but they will confirm if you need to call a biohazardous waste cleanup team to come out. We will be able to help with the cleanup as well as referrals to general contractors, mechanics, and even nearby hospitality/lodging if needed.

You may not need biohazard services at that point, but it is still good to have us come out and provide a free consultation. We can help you assess any areas that may need to be disinfected to reduce the risk from other potentially infectious materials or future odor issues related to the homicide.

As soon as the police have completed their investigation, they will release the property back to the owner. At that point, we can begin our cleanup services. Each scene is different, but we can usually expect to finish our work within a day or two. We will give you our best estimate of time when we arrive on scene so that you can plan accordingly.
